Why choose the Isle of Wight Cycling Holidays?
There’s no better way to explore a place than by bike. Lonely Planet recently named the Isle of Wight as one of the top cycling destinations around the world that should be on every cyclist’s wish list.
The Isle of Wight is a cycling paradise that is home to some of the UK’s most varied terrain. lush green hills rolling into the sea, narrow lanes winding through hedgerows, deep green gullies and the Island’s most striking feature, the back bone of white chalk cliffs stretching across its breadth. looking for a romantic weekend by the sea with gastro pubs and slick hotels and a calendar full of festivals or a family cycling holiday in relaxed and friendly B&Bs the Isle of Wight has it all.
How does it Work?
All our main cycling tours are run on a self-guided basis and we will provide you with every thing you will need to enjoy your holiday whether you’re an experienced cyclist and know the ropes or trying out a cycling holiday for the first time.
We will meet you in the morning of the first cycling day and provide detailed directions and maps, suggest interesting stop-over’s (all the information will have been emailed to you when you book your holiday so you can print it off and read through it before your arrival) and then transport all your luggage to the evening destinations.
Although you will be travelling independently we will always be available throughout your holiday to offer advice or in the unlikely event of a major breakdown provide on-road support.
What day can I start my holiday?
You can start your cycling holiday on any day of the week and any week of the year. Most of our visitors join us from May to September however we are open all year round so why not make the most of the quieter roads in April and October.
What about the bikes?
You can select one of cycling holidays and either bring your own bike or we can supply you with one from a fleet of quality ‘Dawes’ hybrid touring bikes. These are more efficient than a mountain bike but a little stronger and more robust than a traditional road bike they are supplied to us by our cycle hire partner who we have worked with for the last 10 years. The bikes are delivered to you on your arrival day in the evening so you have a chance to get used to them before the first full days ride. Back up is also provided so if you have a problem whilst on the road we are only a phone call away.
To ensure the bike fits you perfectly we will need to know your height before you arrive.
Will I enjoy a cycling holiday?
We work very hard to make sure you can relax and enjoy your holiday and we are pleased to say all of our visitors have gone home maybe a little tired but happy and fulfilled that they have completed their tour.
What if I need help?
We understand this can be a concern and offer a 24 hour back up if you need it service. If a bike has a major brake down we will come and repair it or replace it with another one. And don’t worry if you can’t make it to the end of the day or get lost we will come and get you. We have just invested in a new crew cab van to take bikes in the back and weary cyclists in the front.
